Steps and Steeps, was a collaborative sound walk and tea session for UCL’s Out of Touch Festival held in June 2021.

The sensory, sound walk guided participants through the campus and into Gordon Square. Through a series of eco-therapeutic, sense based prompts, the sound walk encouraged a haptic dialogue within the environment. The walk was created during the transitional period out of the pandemic and explored sensory touch within an urban green space. After the walk, a tea session was prepared by Olha, providing a social frame for listening and reflecting on participants’ sensory encounters during the walk.

Further collaborative work with Olha

Olha and I collaborated on ‘walk into summer’ with Virtual Care Lab in 2021. The three gatherings offered a synchronised pilgrimage from spring into summer, following eco-therapeutic guidance and ritual cycle. We began at the spring equinox (20 March), through Beltane (2 May, the season’s midpoint), and arrived at the summer solstice (21 June).
