Garden Stories, funded by Edinburgh Council, was a five month eco-arts and walking project engaging with Granton Castle Walled Garden. Local residents took part in walking, listening and responding to the garden, noting seasonal changes. Gathering together in winter, the group experienced the shifts in the garden, through to an aliveness in bloom, in summer. Smells, sounds and colours changed as different species - both plant and animal - began to emerge. Monthly fires were held in the garden as well as charcoal making sessions. The project culminated in the creation of a collective, seasonal walking poem, written to the garden. Participants involved were:
Anna Bara, Dominic Bere, Friederike Komme, Mary Ross and Henri Van Der Elst.

Working collaboratively with Jess Parker, an illustrative map was created in response to participant’s art works and text. More info on Jess’s work can be found below; https://jessparker.myportfolio.com/illustration
